The best place to read Daring Fireball as you age and have terrible eyesight is your feed reader with dynamic text support. 😂 t.co/PBV0gdHZV…

@StevenJV That is wild. I expect a lot of remote folks will take him up on it.
I also saw he was expecting 60 hour weeks? Nope. I’m out!
@StonetipApps Incredible. I’d take the cash and start looking for a new gig, especially if I were a remote employee working from a place that is less expensive to live than the Silicon Valley.
So, did Elon really send out an email with a link for folks to visit otherwise they would be laid off with three months pay?
If I were at Twitter and made it through that initial round of layoffs I’d take him up on that offer in a heartbeat.
Especially if you’re remote!
@kevinhoctor ❤️
@eneko @ChristianSelig Nice! 👍🏼
@arsydotorg @smurthys @ArweaveTeam Could we purchase that through Akord or would it be somewhere else?
@smurthys It would be in the format of “instance/settings/export”
Here’s what the page looks like. t.co/h0h8EYRAZ…
@smurthys I think that’s a completely fair assessment. They will come and go as you’ve pointed out but we can take our data with us as long as we get notification of a shutdown.
I’d imagine in some instances they will just go away and that’ll be quite sad.
Is this a really awkward apology or sarcasm? twitter.com/CaseyNewton/st…
Thankfully it was only shit posting instead of the great American favorite: An automatic rifle.
Of course he’s free to fire these folks, he owns the company after all. He can do what he wants.
I have a feeling the folks fired really wanted to escape anyway. Working for someone so demanding and a know it all can drive folks to extreme measures. twitter.com/GergelyOrosz/s…
@StonetipApps Yeah, that makes two of us my friend.
Welp, Fall has finally arrived. 🍂 t.co/TLx5ExLJr…
@EmmaBostian Start at joinmastodon.org to find an instance. It looks like a lot of folks are landing on the main Mastodon instances, but smaller ones are cropping up all the time.
I’ve been encouraging folks to start small instances with friends.
@EmmaBostian Emma, you’re not alone. It’s not a wholesale replacement for Twitter but is quite nice once you move in.
To get started pick an instance and start posting. Find friends and follow. If you find another instance run by friends you can move there and take your followers with you.
@OliverJHaslam Oliver, why can’t you imagine Mastodon is the answer?
There’s no way we’re replacing what we have with Twitter. Mastodon, Discourse, and Slack can’t replace it. They’re different.
I’m not leaving here but I have found Mastodon to be really wonderful.
It’s nice to see the Tapbots folks join the Mastodon bandwagon.
Makes one believe they may be working on a new bot.
You can find them at tapbots.social.
If this doesn’t give you the feeling Twitter is imploding I’m not sure what will. twitter.com/TechEmails/sta…
@essl Good status.
