@CWDillon @nixcraft I think Microsoft will be a fine steward of Github, if they purchase them. Even if they blow it other social coding options will emerge.

Remember folks, git was intended to be decentralized. If you don’t like having your code at Github — if Microsoft does buy it — you can always run your own server. Easy.
@lapcatsoftware You can always run git yourself. I mean, it was meant to be a distributed system. 😀
@andyeb I suppose it all depends on your goals, right? If you want an object store, use it. If you want a database, use something else.
